Tripindi Shraddha can be performed on any day of Panchami, Ashtami, Ekadashi, Trayodashi, Chaturdashi, or Amavasya. This can be done during either fortnight (Shukla or Krishna Paksha) of the months of Shravan, Kartik, Pousha, Magh, Phalgun, or Vaishakh. Pitrapaksha (Mahalaya) is also the best time to perform Tripindi pujan.
The period between September 16th and November 15th, when the Sun is in Virgo or Libra, is considered especially auspicious. During this time, it is believed that the ancestors (Pitars) have greater freedom to descend to the earth, making Tripindi Shraddha performed during this period particularly beneficial.
